    Mrs. Rocha, a 3 year old filly out of the Elocutionist mare Declamation won a maiden race at Del Mar by 1 and 1/4 lengths on September 2nd. Mrs. Rocha came from eleventh position before mounting an impressive drive around the turn en route to victory.     Littleexpectations led by gross on the first day of the Fasig Tipton Texas Yearling Sale. The son of Valid Appeal had 5 yearlings go through the ring for a gross of $116,500. The second highest gross for any other stallion was $77,000. The highest seller by Littleexpectations was Light Expectations out of the Open Forum mare Light Forum. Congratulations to owner Ben E. Smith and consignor Stoneview Farm. Littleeexpectations is the sire of G2 winner King of the Roxy whom also performed in the Preakness Stakes.

Plum Wild Again tracked the leaders racing into the turn before making an outside move in the turn and splitting horses down the lane to get up for the win.     Appeal Star, a 3 year old Littleexpectations filly out of the mare Hosan Forties wan the third race at Colonial Downs on July 31st for a purse of $15,000. The daughter of Littleexpectations set the pace early showing a great turn of foot then drew away in the stretch to win the 5 1/2 furlong contest by 2 lengths. The Littleexpectations filly pressed the pace from the outset before taking over heading into the turn. Little Miss Cindy then drew clear down the stretch.     Trainer Todd Pletcher will saddle Circular Quay and King of the Roxy for Saturday's Preakness Stakes. King of Roxy, who skipped the Derby after finishing second in the Santa Anita Derby, was expected to be ridden by Garrett Gomez, the jockey's agent said. "I'm assuming it is King of the Roxy because we worked him over the weekend, but I haven't been given the final word," agent Ron Anderson said.

    Because of some question about this colt's distance capabilities, his connections chose to skip the Kentucky Derby and aim, instead, for the Preakness Stakes. The son of Littleexpectations out of a Bold Forbes mare has been prominent on the Triple Crown trail, winning the Grade II Hutcheson Stakes before bowing by a mere half-length to Tiago in the Grade I Santa Anita Derby.

    At Belmont Park, trainer Todd Pletcher also sent his Preakness starter for a leisurely one and a half mile gallop. King of the Roxy, runner-up in the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I), finished the morning well and will ship from New York Thursday.
